If you want to straighten your smile, you can choose between traditional braces and Invisalign. The Invisalign treatment process uses clear plastic aligners to gently apply pressure to the teeth and therefore move them into the correct positions. Here are a few reasons to choose Invisalign instead of traditional braces.

1. Look Good During Treatment

Braces give you a straighter smile in the end, but getting through the treatment period can be tough. The brackets and wires that are fixed to the teeth are typically very noticeable, which means there is no way to hide them when you are smiling for photos or chatting with your friends.

Invisalign aligners are made from clear plastic, which means they are almost completely invisible in photos. Your friends and acquaintances are unlikely to notice you are wearing them. If your appearance is important to you, then choosing Invisalign is likely to make the treatment process much easier for you to cope with.

2. Be Comfortable at All Times

One of the biggest complaints people have about fixed braces is how uncomfortable they can be. Wires and brackets apply pressure to teeth to force them to shift into a better alignment, which can lead to headaches or jaw ache if the wires are adjusted too tightly. As they are made of metal, fixed braces can also irritate the mouth by scraping against gums or cheeks.

Invisalign aligners are made from smooth plastic, so it is very unlikely that they will cause ulcers or sore spots. The level of pressure they apply is quite gentle. Every couple of weeks, you would switch to a new set of aligners to ensure that the pressure applied is constant.

3. Spend Less Time Cleaning Braces

Cleaning a set of fixed braces can be a tedious and time-consuming activity. The wires make it difficult to floss your teeth normally, so you would need to use an interdental brush to clean between each tooth and get rid of the food and plaque that can build up there. You also need to take extra care when brushing your teeth so you don't accidentally bend or break the wires holding your braces in place.

Invisalign braces are easy to clean. Simply take them out, brush them with a toothbrush, and rinse them thoroughly. You can clean your teeth as usual while they are out of your mouth. When you are ready, put the aligners back in so they can continue to work on your teeth.
